EAP for Employers
EAP Can Benefit Your Company
As an employer we realize that your employees are your most valuable resource. We also understand that at times family problems can spill over into the workplace, and sometimes the stress of the workplace can affect family life. For this reason we offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which allows employers to contract with Family Services to offer workers and their families a limited amount of counseling services through their company’s benefit package. The purpose of the EAP is to retain valued employees and return them to productive roles through voluntary and confidential counseling and referral services for employees and their eligible dependents. An EAP professional is also available to work closely with a company to handle referrals, provide consultation to supervisors, conduct trainings for management and employees and intervene in crisis situations if ever necessary.
How does an EAP work?
An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides short-term counseling for employees and their immediate family. Employees can use the EAP for confidential assistance with personal problems that may be interfering with work. Often, a couple of visits with a counselor are all an employee needs to gain perspective on a problem and a sense of control. Some of the issues that an EAP can help with include:
- Stress
- Alcohol and drug abuse
- Marital problems
- Parent/child conflict
- Children’s problems
- Divorce adjustment
- Depression
- Phobias
- Sexual abuse
- Crisis intervention
- Financial concerns
- Eating disorders
- A legal access plan for any legal issue
Where are these services provided?
Services are provided at Family Services Counseling Center located at:

Beaumont, Texas 77701
What will an EAP cost my company?
Providing an EAP for your employees is simple and affordable. A contract with Family Services involves a set fee per employee, per contract year. Because the contract is based on a company’s number of employees, even small businesses can benefit from Family Services EAP. Not to mention, research shows savings with an EAP far outweigh the costs.
How much will I save with an EAP?
It is estimated that for every $1 a company invests in an EAP, approximately $3 to $5 is saved. When employers take into account the cost of recruitment, selection, and training they have invested in their employees and the additional costs of replacing them, helping an employee deal with her/her problems makes sense. Offering assistance to employees experiencing difficulties also communicates a sense of care and commitment.
What are some other ways an EAP saves company money?
EAP programs are shown to decrease employee absenteeism, tardiness, jobsite accidents, unemployment compensation, use of insurance benefits and necessary time supervisors need to devote to troubled employees. Furthermore, productivity and company morale have been shown to increase with an EAP.
