24-Hour Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Hotline 409-832-7575 or 1-800-621-8882

Not everyone realizes that Family Services’ work goes way beyond the issue of domestic violence. This month, we want to shine a light on one of our fantastic programs called Kid’s Connection.

It’s summed up beautifully in this United Way video.

The Kid’s Connection curriculum is a unique, multi-cultural curriculum-based support group for high-risk elementary-aged children in Golden Triangle schools.  Children meet in confidential, small group settings and are taught essential life skills to help them learn how to cope with difficult family situations, resist negative peer pressure, respect others, set and achieve goals, make healthy choices, and refuse alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
