24-Hour Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Hotline 409-832-7575 or 1-800-621-8882

Family Services is proud to offer a Transitional Housing Program (also known as Sunshine Cove Apartments) to women and children that have used our Domestic Violence Shelter services and are on their way to reclaiming their lives and livelihood.

This summer, HUD cut funding that was critical to the continued operation of Sunshine Cove.

The wonderful news is that the Housing Authority of the City of Beaumont has amended its Annual Plan to reflect its plan to add a waiting list preference for victims of domestic violence that are being directly assisted by and residing in the Women and Children’s Shelter.

The Housing Authority’s plan is now in the public comment phase.  That’s where you come in!

Please help solidify the Beaumont Housing Authority’s decision by writing a letter of support of the Amendment.

The deadline for submittal of written comments is no later than 4:00 p.m. CST on Monday, October 17, 2016.  To facilitate public access and review of the Plan, the revisions are available at www.bmtha.org.

The Plan documents will also be available for inspection beginning September 1, 2016 at the BHA Central Office, located at 1890 Laurel, Beaumont, TX 77701, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Written comments should be addressed to Mr. Robert L. Reyna, Executive Director, and must be received at BHA’s Central Office, 1890 Laurel, Beaumont, TX 77701, no later than 4:00 p.m. CST on Monday, October 17, 2016.

A sample letter is included here.

Thank you!
